FAQs

Do I have to attend the full day of the Science & Storytelling Symposium to register?

We hope that you will join us for the entire Science & Storytelling Symposium on Friday, March 1. You won’t want to miss the inspirational National Geographic Explorers and UVA scholars on stage, and there will be a free lunch for all attendees. But we understand that you may have class or other pre-existing conflicts on that day. In that case, join us for as much of the program as you can.

Do I have to pay to attend?

No. All National Geographic On Campus events are free to currently enrolled University of Virginia undergraduate and graduate students, postdocs, faculty, and staff.

Who can attend National Geographic On Campus?

The Science & Storytelling Symposium on Friday, March 1, is open to all currently enrolled University of Virginia students, postdocs, faculty, and staff. The On Campus Workshops on Saturday are available only to currently enrolled UVA students.

I registered for the event, but can no longer attend. What should I do?

Please go to the Registration page and click on “cancel your registration” below the orange “NetBadge Login to Register” button.

I tried to register for an On Campus Workshop, but it was full. What should I do?

Add your name to the Waitlist for that workshop. We’ll contact you if a space becomes available.

I have a question about registration. Who should I contact?

If you have any questions about your registration please email oncampus@ngs.org

Is there a dress code for the event?

Dress comfortably, but keep in mind that there will be networking opportunities throughout the day.
